This event was hosted by the Scottish Short Mat Bowling Federation and was staged in Dumfries. The event was notable fot two things. First the success of the Welsh team who took four out of the five titles on offer, the first time they have ever done this. The second notable event was the entry of the Isle-of-Man for the very first time.
