The "A" Team event was hosted by the English Short Mat Bowling Association in
Milton Keynes in December 2001. The foot and Mouth epidemic prevented the event from being
played in March of 2001 but as a consolation, England won four out of the five titles on offer.
The Championships are held every two years so the individual champions will hold their titles
until the spring of 2003.
